The Reuters Desktop Ticker lets you easily select the content that you wish to receive, navigate quickly through the headlines and place the Ticker where you want it on your desktop .
You can tailor the news you receive by clicking on the ‘down arrow’ symbol at the far right of the Reuters Desktop Ticker. This allows you to access the settings pop-up menu. You can also move the ticker around your desktop using the "grab-bar" on the right hand side of the ticker. |

AGREEMENT FOR USE OF REUTERS DESKTOP TICKER
You are agreeing to be bound by the terms listed below when you click on [I Agree]. They govern your use of the Reuters Desktop Ticker, including the information in it and the software on which it is based.
If you do not wish to be bound by these terms please click on [Cancel] at the end of this page.
You are not able to cancel these terms but they cease to have ongoing relevance if you erase and stop using the software.
Liability – the risks you take when using the Software/information
Neither Reuters nor anyone else is promising that the software or Information or any element of the Reuters Desktop Ticker is without errors, viruses or defects. Reuters Desktop Ticker is provided “as is”.
The software and information are being made available free of charge. You agree neither Reuters, nor third parties, such as software owners or Macromedia ® should be liable for the performance or availability or problems with the software or Information, nor for any losses, damages or costs anyone might suffer as a result of using them. In particular, Reuters and third parties shall not be liable for lost data, lost profits, lost revenue or security problems.
Reuters is not promising that the Reuters Desktop Ticker will be available for use in an uninterrupted fashion, nor that the Information will be up-to-date or accurate.
We have used reasonable care to virus check the software. Viruses and hacking are common on the Internet and you should have your own, regularly updated virus checking software.
Reuters does not own the software but is using it under licence from Macromedia ®. Reuters is NOT warranting, however, that the software does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property rights. It is quite possible that you might have to stop using the software on short notice.
Your rights
Reuters grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license right to use the Software and related information in the Reuters Desktop Ticker, solely for your own personal use.
This right can be withdrawn at any time (without Reuters paying you any penalty or compensation) immediately on notice to you or by notice or clear indication on the site. Reuters can at its own choice cease providing the Reuters Desktop Ticker.
Also, Reuters might have a good reason why it needs to change these terms – such changes to them will be made by posting information online on the reuters.co.uk web site.
Your commitments
You agree:-
a) you are not a national or resident of Cuba, Iraq, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria or Sudan or other countries against which the UK, the US and the UN have trade sanctions and you will not allow the Software to be exported to or used by residents or nationals of these countries. Residents or nationals of these countries may not download or use the Reuters Desktop Ticker or related Software;
b) not to further distribute, forward on or copy, reproduce or publish the Software or the Information;
c) not to store or change the Information or use it for commercial purposes;
d) not to use the Information or Software in an illegal manner which might be unduly harmful to others; and
c) not to decompile, reverse engineer or modify the Software or the information or to remove any trade marks or file names, except to the extent you have mandatory rights in law to do so.
Ownership
Ownership of and title to and all related intellectual property rights in the Software remain with the owner/Macromedia ® and in the information/news remain with Reuters.
Macromedia ® may directly enforce any of these terms against you, provided that Reuters agrees to them doing so.

Disputes
The reuters.co.uk site is aimed at the UK and residents of the UK, therefore you agree that these terms shall be governed by the law of England and Wales and English courts shall apply to any disputes. This should not, however, prejudice any mandatory protection your law gives you.
